Narcissism is on the rise and it seems our men are feeling themselves a little too much! Narcissistic personality disorder is said to be a mental disorder in which people have an exaggerated sense of their own importance, and a deep need for respect. Are our men turning more and more narcissistic? Are you dating a Narcissist? Here’s a few tips explaining narcissism and how to tell if you are dating a narcissist man.

Ladies, be aware if your guy seems to be a Charmer. Narcissists can be very charismatic and persuasive. When they’re interested in you (usually for their own satisfaction), they make you feel very special and wanted. They also believe they can only be understood by, or should be associated with, other special or high-status people.

A Narcissist man can be very engaging and sociable, as long as you’re fulfilling what he desires, while also giving him all of your attention. He loves talking about himself, and shows no regard for other people’s thoughts, feelings, possessions, and physical space.

He also may exaggerate his achievements and talents, and expect to be recognized as superior. Be careful a narcissist man may react with rage when criticized or belittled, and he loves the best of everything.

If you suspect your mate to be a narcissist remember to always be proactive instead of reactive. Try to not look ruffled or irritated! Reaction will only egg them on to more aggressive counter-behavior. Also try to point out the inappropriateness of his egocentric behavior with a smile or joke, without being cruel. Having a positive sense of humor can help you overcome a lot of his narcissist ways. And the number one thing to remember in dealing with a Narcissist is recognizing that they have a problem! Try addressing the issue if you believe you are dating a narcissist man, and if that doesn’t help, seek care for your honey. Because no one wants to be in a relationship that is one sided!
